I met Miss Diana at TOC through a friend, and boy am I grateful for that. I was not sure what to expect because cooking classes for children are typically simple and more baking or decorating driven. To my surprise, Miss Diana teaches the kids serious meals and all from scratch with fresh and whole ingredients! In only a few weeks, our children have gone from making pasta from scratch to chicken nuggets, also from scratch with several steps, and the best seasoning ever! And this is not just incredible for the complexity and sensory filled recipes she is introducing to the kids, but the way she imparts the lessons is amazing. She is a natural educator, with the biggest heart, and kindest to children. Her patience and open arms is noticed as soon as you walk in to her kitchen and she treats the kids as their own with the kindest words, and gestures. She even has a craft, and a play area, so that the kids can create or play as they wait for the foods to cook/bake. I was so grateful to know that parents are allowed to stay during the class, but most of all, that her space is inclusive to all abilities. These classes are excellent for children with sensory seeking, and attention challenges, and Miss Diana makes sure that they are on track, on point, safe, and happy before, during, and as they leave her kitchen. I cannot feel anything other than happy for having tried TOC this summer. We are now on a membership basis, and are here to stay.
